New Carp Introduced at The Folly Main Lake (19th March 2025)

Anglers at The Folly are set to enjoy an even better fishing experience following the introduction of new stock fish into the Main Lake as part of an ongoing improvement programme.

This week, a fresh batch of quality Old English carp were released into the water, marking the latest phase in The Folly’s long-term restocking and fishery management plan. Known for their distinctive appearance and classic lineage, Old English carp are highly prized among anglers for their strong fighting spirit and heritage value.

The introduction aims to maintain a healthy balance within the lake’s ecosystem while ensuring sustainable fishing opportunities for years to come. The Folly’s management team say the move is part of their commitment to enhancing both the quality and variety of fish available to members and visitors alike.

“We’re really pleased to bring in these beautiful Old English carp as part of our ongoing stocking programme,” says Nick Cesare Sr for The Folly. “It’s important to us that the lake continues to thrive, offering anglers both great sport and a connection to traditional British carp fishing.”
